Configuring and Managing Employee Rates Overview
ezLaborManager includes several features that allow you to calculate employees' gross payroll. An employee's pay can be calculated using rates assigned to the individual employee or using rates that are defined for the specific jobs for which the employee is being paid. Special wage rate programs can also be created to define rates that are applied when the employee's time is assigned to specific labour charge value combinations (such as a specific department, job, and task). The rates defined in wage rate programs can be calculated rates based on employees' base rates, or they can be flat rates.
If your company uses ezLaborManager's rate features, employees can view their base rates, job rates, calculated gross payroll. Depending on your company's security settings, supervisors may also be able to see their employees' rates of pay and calculated payroll totals.
As an administrator, you can view employees' rates, rate programs, and calculated gross payroll. You can also assign and edit employees' rates and rate programs. Note, however, that you cannot edit all of the settings that control when and how various rates are applied. Some of these settings are configured by your ADP ezLaborManager representative. For general information about how rates are applied, see Configuring When Rates Are Used. If you have specific questions about how rates are used in your company, consult your system administrator, or an ADP ezLaborManager representative.
For more information about the tasks you can perform involving rates, see the following topics:
Notes:
Using rates and exporting gross payroll is optional. Rates are available
only if your company enters them into ezLaborManager.
ezLaborManager
only calculates and exports gross payroll, which is based on employees'
timecard data and rate definitions; it does not calculate or record taxes,
pay deductions, etc.
