A cookie is a piece of information that
is stored on your computer by your browser at the request of a
particular Web server. Security-conscious users are often concerned
about using cookies, since cookies often contain user information.
Almost all of the cookies created and used
by ezLaborManager are session
cookies. These cookies are necessary for ezLaborManager to function
correctly, and are safe because the information stored in these
temporary cookies is deleted when you close your browser session.
A few pieces of non-sensitive data, such as your company's client
login name and your login
page language preference, are stored by ezLaborManager in persistent cookies. The browser
stores these pieces of information so that you do not have to
re-enter it every time you open a new ezLaborManager session.
No sensitive information is stored in cookies that persist across
browser sessions.
You must enable cookies to use ezLaborManager.
For instructions, see Enabling
Cookies.
To protect your personal data, ezLaborManager
uses a security method called Secure Socket Layer (SSL), which
encrypts and protects information sent back and forth over the
Internet. In most cases, you do not need to make any configuration
changes to enable secure access. However, if you receive a message
that says that the login page cannot
be displayed or that SSL is disabled, you will need to check your
browser's SSL settings. See Enabling
Secure (SSL) Access for instructions.
Tip:
You can tell if you have a secure connection by looking at the
Internet address (or URL) for the ezLaborManager page you are
viewing. If you have a secure connection, the address will begin
with https:// (rather
than http://).
Your browser is probably displaying old
copies of the online Help files that are stored in your browser's
cache. To ensure that you have all of the most current application
and online Help files, clear your cache whenever you are notified
of a new release. See Clearing
Your Cache for instructions.
Scripts are small pieces of computer code
that run on your computer to perform a variety of important functions.
ezLaborManager
relies heavily on scripts, so your browser must be configured
to understand and run scripts for ezLaborManager
to function properly. For information on checking your browser's
script settings, see Enabling
Scripts.
If some links in the online Help do not
work, your browser is probably set to block active content. Active
content refers to Web page content that has some "active"
element, such as expanding text or drop down boxes. If your browser
is set to block active content, or if you use other utility programs
to block active content, certain features of the online Help will
not work properly. (ezLaborManager
should not be affected.)
Because active content blocking is a security
feature, you should consult your system administrator
before changing your active blocking settings. See Browser Settings for
Online Help for more information.
The language used in the ezLaborManager
interface is controlled by language settings within the application,
not by the language and culture settings for your browser. For
instructions on changing the language setting for ezLaborManager,
see Changing
Your Language Options.
