Viewing the Employee Approval History for a Timecard
If your company allows and/or requires employees to approve their timecards, you can view a history of your employees' timecard approval actions for each timecard.
To view the employee approval history for a timecard:
From the Home page, click the Unapproved Timecards link.
On the Unapproved Timecards Detail page, navigate
to the employee you wish to view and click the
button.
The Timecard Approval History page opens and displays the date and
time of each of the employee's approval actions (approvals and unapprovals) for the timecard for the selected
pay period.
If necessary, use the employee filter and selection tools to navigate to the correct employee.
Tip: Depending upon how your system is configured, an employee may have more than one Employee ID. You can enter the employee's name in the text box, use the lookup button () to select the employee from a list, or use the navigation buttons ( and ) to scroll through the employees in your currently selected filter. If necessary, use the employee filter button () to change which employees are included in the selected filter or to switch to a different filter.
If necessary, use the date selection tools to select an appropriate date range.
Tip: You can select a predefined period from the drop-down menu, enter a date in the date text box, or use the button to select a pay period. If you select Current Pay Period, Next Pay Period, Previous Pay Period, or Today, from the menu, or if you use the button to select a pay period, the Timecard page will refresh immediately. If you enter a specific day, you must click Find to refresh the page with data for the date you have chosen. The Timecard always displays data for an entire pay period. If you select "Today" or enter a single date in the date field, the pay period containing the selected date is displayed.
In the Payroll Summary section, click the Timecard Approval History link.
The Timecard Approval History page opens and displays the date and time of each of the employee's approval actions (approvals and unapprovals) for the timecard for the selected pay period.
Notes: The Timecard Approval History only records the dates and times at which the employee explicitly approved or unapproved the timecard. A timecard that has been approved by an employee may actually be in an unapproved state if the timecard changed after the employee approved it. Any additions, edits, or deletions performed by the employee or by a manager or administrator after the timecard was approved will clear the employee's approval. Such changes in approval status are not shown in the Timecard Approval History.
