Adding a New Timeclock
Adding a New Timeclock
As an administrator, you can add new timeclock definitions to ezLaborManager to identify the timeclocks used by your company. After a timeclock definition (referred to in ezLaborManager simply as a "timeclock") has been added, you can assign specific employees to use that timeclock.
Notes: To perform the procedure below, an ADP ezLaborManager representative must have enabled and configured hosted timeclock support for your company.
This procedure describes how to add a timeclock definition within ezLaborManager. It does not cover how to set up a new physical timeclock or the data collection software required for timeclocks to communicate with ezLaborManager. For more information about these tasks, contact your ADP ezLaborManager representative.
If you want to add a new timeclock definition that is very similar to (and/or should have the same employees assigned to it as) an existing timeclock definition, you can copy the existing timeclock definition instead of creating a new definition from scratch. For instructions, see Copying an Existing Timeclock.
Starting Point: Administrator Services > Administration > Setup > Hosted Timeclock Configuration
To add a timeclock, complete the following steps:
Click the plus sign and then click New Timeclock for Model ADP 4500 – Hosted.
In the ID field, enter a unique name for the timeclock (for example, BuildingAFirstFloor). This name must be 25 or fewer characters in length and cannot contain special characters.
In the Description field, enter a brief description to help identify the timeclock (for example, Building A First Floor Double Doors). This description must be 100 or fewer characters in length and cannot contain special characters.
In the Timeclock Profile field, select the appropriate profile.
Click to select the Disable Device Communication check box if you don’t want the timeclock to communicate with the hosting center.
In the Default Labor Charge Values section, select the labor charge values that will be available for use by your employees at the timeclock.
Note: The number of labor charge fields you can assign is limited to six.
In the Relay section, do one of the following:
If You Want to Add |
Then |
Bell Schedule |
|
Gate Access |
Note: The checkbox is selected as the default. If the checkbox is not selected, the employee punch will not be recorded even if the employee is validated and the gate is open.
Notes: If your company has purchased a separate relay for the timeclock, the timeclock can be configured to open an entry door at the timeclock location as a punch is made. Gate access schedules can be created to control access for designated periods of time. |
Click the Submit button to save the new timeclock definition.
The Timeclock Setup page displays. This page contains setup instructions for your timeclock. Click the Print button in the upper-right corner of the page to print the instructions and take them with you to the timeclock.
Click Cancel and then click Cancel again.
