Specifying Times |
|
The time fields in ezLaborManager display times in the format selected by your company's system administrator, using either the civilian (AM/PM) or the military (24 hour) clock. You can use either format to enter times on ezLaborManager forms. If you enter a time into a field using a format other than the one preferred by your company, ezLaborManager will automatically convert the time when you tab out of the field or click elsewhere on the page.
ezLaborManager can recognize several different formats for representing the same time. The following table illustrates some common formats and how each is interpreted by ezLaborManager. If you enter a time that cannot be interpreted by ezLaborManager, an error message indicating the preferred format for entering time will be displayed.

Tips:
The minute portion of your time entry must be either zero (for the top
of the hour) or two digits. The entry "8" will be interpreted
as "08:00" and the entry "9:05" is valid, but "9:5"
is not.
You must use only the Arabic numerals 0 – 9 to enter indicate hours and
minutes. Do not used spelled-out times, such as "ten a.m." Letters can only be used to indicate "AM"
or "PM."
You can use either the civilian or military time format to enter your times,
regardless of your company's default setting for displaying time. Your
time values will be converted appropriately.
If "AM", "A", "PM" or "P" is not
indicated for times with an hour value between 01 and 11, the time will
be interpreted as a morning time. For example, the entry 9:45 will be
rendered as 09:45 AM for companies using civilian time and 09:45 for companies
using military time.
You can use a colon (:) to separate the hours and minutes in your time
entry, but it is not required. No other special characters are recognized
in time fields.
Times are always displayed as hours and minutes. Seconds are not displayed.
