Frequently Asked Questions about Attendance

  • How do I know when an attendance exception has been recorded?

ezLaborManager does not notify you explicitly when an attendance exception is generated, so it is important that you be aware of your company's attendance policies. You can determine whether your company tracks attendance exceptions by clicking the Attendance Exceptions link on the My Attendance tab. If your company does not track attendance, the message "You are currently not assigned to an Attendance Program" will be displayed. If your company does track exceptions, you should check the Attendance Exceptions page periodically to monitor your attendance exceptions and your infraction level.

  • The Attendance Exception page indicates that I am at "Infraction Level 1" What does this mean?

If your Attendance Exception page contains an area in the upper right corner that lists your infraction level, your company is using an attendance policy that assigns infractions when you have accrued a specified number of attendance exception points. Depending on your company's attendance policy, some attendance infractions levels require corrective or disciplinary action to be taken. Each company defines its own infraction levels and point systems, so you should consult your supervisor if you have specific questions about your infraction level.

  • The Late Arrival and Absence buttons only let me report that I will be late or absent today or tomorrow. How do I record that I will be late or absent on a day that is further in the future?

These buttons allow you to report unplanned late arrivals or absences that are caused by unexpected circumstances such as illness, car trouble, etc. If you know more than a day in advance that you will be late or absent, you should contact your supervisor directly, so that he or she can adjust your work schedule in ezLaborManager.

  • When I send a late arrival or absence notification, will this information be automatically entered in my timecard data? For instance, if I send a notification that I will not be in today because I am sick, will my eight sick hours be automatically recorded?

No. The attendance notification feature simply creates a record and sends a notice indicating that you anticipate that you will be late or absent. If you are late, you will still need to record your working time in your usual manner (using the clocking buttons or the time sheet, depending on your time-entry method), even if you have sent a late arrival notice. If you are absent from work, you or your supervisor will need to record your non-worked hours if they are to be charged to an earnings code (such as SICK or VAC).
