Editing a Security Group's Configuration |

If you are a practitioner and you have the necessary authorization, you can perform the following editing tasks for security groups:
Edit a security group's description
From the Time & Attendance menu, select Setup.
Note: If the Setup option is not visible, make sure that you have selected Practitioner in the Role Selector.
Under the Users heading on the Setup page, click the Security Groups link. The Security Groups page opens, which displays all security groups that exist for your company.
Click the ID for the security group with the description that you want to edit. The Security Group page opens.
Delete the current entry in the Description field and enter a new description.
Click the Submit button.
Add or remove employees who are members of a security group
From the Time & Attendance menu, select Setup.
Note: If the Setup option is not visible, make sure that you have selected Practitioner in the Role Selector.
Under the Users heading on the Setup page, click the Security Groups link. The Security Groups page opens, which displays all security groups that exist for your company.
Click the ID for the security group that you want to edit. The Security Group page opens.
Click the Employees tab.
Click the Assign additional employees link. The Employee ID Lookup window opens.
Select the check box for each employee you want to add as a member of the security group and then click the Done button.
Notes:
When you click the Done
button, you are returned to the Security Group page. For each
employee you selected, the Start Date field is automatically
filled in with the current date. The date in this field indicates
when an employee begins being a member of the security group.
If needed, you can change the start date by clicking the button and then selecting a different date.
You can also enter an optional end date on which the employee
will stop being a member of the security group. Click the
button next to the End Date
field and then select an end date. If you want the employee
to be a member of the security group indefinitely, do not
enter a date in the End Date field.
If you want to delete employees who belong to the security group, select the check box in the Delete column on the Security Group page for each employee that you want to delete.
Click the Submit button.
Add or remove users who can access a security group
From the Time & Attendance menu, select Setup.
Note: If the Setup option is not visible, make sure that you have selected Practitioner in the Role Selector.
Under the Users heading on the Setup page, click the Security Groups link. The Security Groups page opens, which displays all security groups that exist for your company.
Click the ID for the security group that you want to edit. The Security Group page opens.
Click the Users tab.
Click the Assign additional users link. The User ID Lookup window opens.
On the left side of the User ID Lookup window, select the check box for each user whom you want to have access to the security group and then click the Done button.
Notes:
When you click the Done
button, you are returned to the Security Group page. For each
user you selected, the Start Date field is automatically filled
in with the current date. The date in this field indicates
when a user can begin accessing the employees in the security
group. If needed, you can change the start date by clicking
the button and then selecting
a different date.
You can also enter an optional end date on which the user will
stop being able to access the employees in the security group.
Click the button next to the
End Date field and then select an end date. If you want the
employee to be a member of the security group indefinitely,
do not enter a date in the End Date field.
If you want to remove a user's access to the security group, select the check box in the Delete column on the Security Group page for each user that you want to remove access from.
Click the Submit button.
View a list of users who have access to all employees
From the Time & Attendance menu, select Setup.
Note: If the Setup option is not visible, make sure that you have selected Practitioner in the Role Selector.
Under the Users heading on the Setup page, click the Security Groups link. The Security Groups page opens, which displays all security groups that exist for your company.
Click the ID for any security group in the list. The Security Group page opens.
Click the Users with access to all employees tab. Users with access to all security groups are listed.
Note: You cannot edit any of the assignments on this tab. The information is read-only.
