Using Lookup Windows |
|
Many fields in the Time & Attendance module only accept certain values that are defined elsewhere in the application. In some cases, you may know the exact values you need to enter, but often you may need assistance in making your selection. The Time & Attendance Module's single-selection with auto-suggest and multiple-selection lookup windows make it simple to enter the correct values for each field.
Using Single-Selection Lookup Windows
Using Multiple-Selection Lookup Windows
Tips:
In addition to listing the available field values, most lookup windows
contain one or more other columns that provide a description and other
information about the available choices. You can sort and search
by most of these columns.
Most lookup windows include a Search Options section that allows you to
search for the item(s) you want. On many
lookup windows, you can search by different columns. For example, if you
are looking for a department number, you can search for the department's
numeric code or for the department name. For more information, see Using
the Search Feature.
If you need to stop your lookup procedure and return to the form from which
you opened the lookup window, click the Cancel
button. The lookup window will close and no value will be added to the
field associated with the lookup.
Although you can manually type values into fields that are associated with
single-selection lookup windows, you cannot type values into a field that
uses a multiple-selection lookup button.
