If you have assigned an employee to a recurring schedule but have also created daily schedules (schedule deviations) that override the employee's template-based recurring schedule for specific days, you can easily remove these deviations if you want restore the exact recurring schedule.

Note: The following instructions are for removing deviations using the Remove Schedule Deviations page. You can also remove deviations easily using the Delete or Restore Multiple mode of the Daily Schedules tab.

To remove schedule deviations and restore a recurring template:

  1. From the Time & Attendance menu, select Schedules.

Note: If the Schedules option is not visible, make sure that you have selected Manager in the Role Selector.

  2. Depending upon how your system is configured, an employee may have more than one Employee ID. If necessary, adjust the Employee Filter and Schedule Filter until the employee for whom you want to remove schedule deviations is included in the schedule grid. You may also need to use the vertical scroll bar to bring the employee into view.

  3. In the employee (left) column of the schedule grid, click the Monthly Schedule button next to the employee's name. A Monthly Schedule page will open and display four weeks of the employee's scheduled worked and non-worked time.

  4. If necessary, adjust the Monthly Schedule start date until the day or days for which you want to remove deviations becomes visible. You cannot remove deviations that fall in past pay periods.

    Tips:
By default, the Monthly Schedule displays the four-week period that begins with the earliest week that was being viewed in the schedule grid. However, unlike the grid on the Schedules page (which can start on any day of the week), the Monthly Calendar view always starts with the day of the week specified as the start day of week for your company.

The Previous and Next buttons move the Monthly Schedule view backwards and forwards in four-week increments. You can also change the range of dates displayed by selecting a date using the Calendar Lookup button (or by manually entering a date into the date box) and then clicking the Find button. The Monthly Schedule page will refresh and display the four-week period that begins with the week that contains the date you entered. To return to a four-week view that begins with the current week, click the Current Week button.

  5. On the calendar row that contains the deviations you want to remove, click the Remove Deviations button to open the Remove Schedule Deviations page.

  6. On the Remove Schedule Deviations page, enter the start date and end date of the time period for which you want to remove all deviations and restore schedules based exactly on the recurring schedule template.

Tip: The start and end dates are inclusive. This means that any deviations for the start and end dates you enter, as well as the intervening dates, will be removed. These dates default to the start and end date of the week for which you clicked the Remove Deviations button, but you can change the dates if necessary.

  7. Click the Submit button.

Note: If an employee has not been assigned a recurring schedule, but has been assigned a series of daily schedules, the employee's entire calendar is made up of "deviations." In such a case, if you use the Remove Deviations button, all of the employee's schedules for the time period you specify will be removed.
