Searching the Online Help |

Note: If your browser is configured to block active content, some of the aspects of the online Help described on this page will not function or will function differently than described here. See Configuring Your Browser for Online Help.
The search feature allows you to search the entire Help system for every occurrence of a particular word.
To search for a term in the online Help:
If the search tool is not already being displayed in the left pane, click the Search button in the top pane.
In the Type in the word(s) to search for text box, enter the word or words for which you need information.
Tips:
The search feature is not case-sensitive. Every page containing the words you specify will be listed, regardless of capitalization.
The search tool searches for complete words only. Do not use
wildcards or truncated versions of words. For example, searching for "
config" or "
config*" will not find topics that contain the word "configuration".
Press the Enter key to submit your search. A list of topics containing the word or words you entered will be displayed.
Tip: Because a search lists every page that contains the word you are searching for, you may get a large number of results. To narrow your search, include more words. If you enter more than one word, the search will locate any topic containing each whole word, irrespective of order. For example, entering "configuration" may yield too many results to be useful. You can narrow the search by entering "browser configuration". Because the search looks only for matching words, irrespective of order, you could also enter "configuration browser", which would yield the same results as "browser configuration".
