As a practitioner, in addition to the information entered on the Flextime Detail tab, earnings codes must be entered on the Earnings Code tab.  The earnings codes entered on this tab will count towards Actual Worked Hours, and are generally paid earnings codes.

To configure earnings codes for Flextime:

  1. From the Time & Attendance menu, select Maintenance .

Note: If the Maintenance option is not visible, make sure that you have selected Practitioner in the Role Selector.

  2. Under the Employee heading on the Maintenance page, click the Flextime Rules link. The Flextime Rules page opens.

  3. Click the Earnings Code tab.

  4. Click the Assign additional Earnings Codes to this Flextime Rule link. The Earnings Code Lookup window opens and displays a list of available earnings codes.

  5. Select the appropriate codes and click the Submit button.

  6. In the Maximum Counted fields, enter the number of hours to be counted towards Actual Worked Hours. Maximum Counted hours are the maximum number of hours that will be counted towards an employee’s actual worked hours for flextime calculations.  For example, entering 2.00 in the Maximum Counted field for a Bereavement earnings code will designate two hours of that day towards actual worked hours, even if 4.00 hours of Bereavement was recorded.

  7. In the Factor fields, enter the factor at which the hours will be calculated. Factor determines the factor at which hours are calculated.  For example, setting the Factor to 2.00 for a Holiday Worked earnings code would count double the hours towards employee’s actual worked hours for flextime calculations.

  8. After you have verified that you have configured the appropriate earnings codes, click the Submit button.
