Frequently Asked Questions about Exporting Data

  • Do I have to set up my export preferences every time I export data?

No. All data is exported using reusable templates. The templates allow you to define exactly what data is exported and how it is formatted. Your ADP Time & Attendance Representative has set up export templates for each pay cycle in your Time & Attendance module database. You can also create new export templates for payroll data or accrual data as necessary.

  • How can I tell if the export is finished and that it ran successfully?

Notes: If the export has been successfully processed, the status column will display the Processed without Errors icon.

After the export has been processed, the total number of errors (if any) that occurred during the export appears in the Errors column. Click the number in the Errors column to see detailed information for each error. If the errors are not critical to your payroll export, you can download the exported file without correcting them. If you need to correct any of the errors in the exported data, delete the export record, correct all of the errors, and then create a new export file.

For a description of all status icons, see The Exports Page.

  • What do I need to do after I export data?

In order to view the exported data or make it available to another application, such as your external payroll application, you must download the export from the Time & Attendance module to a local computer or network. For instructions, see Creating and Downloading Export Files.
