In some circumstances, you may want to rescind or delete a corrective action you have previously recorded in the Time & Attendance module.

Rescinding a Corrective Action

Rescinding a corrective action nullifies the effect of a corrective action, but does not remove the action from an employee's attendance records. The initial corrective action will still appear in the employee's attendance exception history, but it will have a value of 0.00 points. (If your company has chosen not to display points for an employee, attendance points are not displayed for the employee.) Rescinding an action is usually performed when special circumstances exist. For instance, after you have met with an employee to administer a corrective action, the employee may provide materials or information that excuse the attendance exceptions that caused an attendance infraction. If you want to excuse the exceptions and reverse the corrective action, but still maintain a record of the corrective action, use the rescind feature.

Deleting a Corrective Action

Deleting a corrective action removes the corrective action from all records except the corrective action edit audit trail. A deleted corrective action will not appear in an employee's attendance exception history. If you make a mistake, such as assigning too great a reduction in attendance points or recording a corrective action you have not yet performed, use the delete feature to remove the erroneous corrective action.

Notes:
Only the last recorded corrective action for an employee can be rescinded or deleted.

If you do not want the infraction that necessitated the corrective action you are rescinding or deleting to reoccur, you must clear the attendance exceptions that generated the infraction before you rescind or delete the corrective action. If you do not fix or excuse the root attendance exceptions, the infraction will be generated again when the Time & Attendance module's attendance processor runs, and you will be prompted again to take a corrective action.
