Frequently Asked Questions about Getting Help

  • I am clicking on links, like the ones on this page, but nothing happens. What is the problem?

Your system is blocking certain types of active or dynamic content used by the Help. See Configuring Your Browser for Online Help for information about this problem and how to resolve it.

  • Why does nothing happen when I click the print icon in online Help?

Your browser may not be configured to accept JavaScript. See Enabling Scripts for instructions on how to change your script settings.

  • My system administrator told me last week that there was a new release of ezLaborManager. Now I see new fields, but the online Help doesn't provide any procedures for them. What has happened, and how can I update the Help?

Your browser is probably displaying old copies of the online Help files that are stored in your browser's cache.  To ensure that you have all of the most current application and online Help files, clear your cache whenever you are notified of a new ezLaborManager release. See Clearing Your Cache for instructions.

  • I have an ADP ezLaborManager representative on the phone and he or she is asking for the version of the application that I am using. How do I determine this?

Click the ABOUT link located in the banner at the bottom of most ezLaborManager windows. A pop-up window will open and display the version number and release date of the ezLaborManager release you are using.

  • I opened online Help earlier, but when I tried to open it again, nothing happened. Why?

You may have accidentally minimized the Help window, instead of closing it. If the window is minimized and you have your Microsoft taskbar enabled, you should see a button for the Help file at the bottom of your screen. Click on the button and the Help window will be restored.

Note: Even if you keep the Help window open (whether minimized or visible), it will be refreshed with new information each time you click The Help Button and select Online Help.

  • I clicked Help, but information about my browser was displayed. What happened, and how do I get to the Help?

You probably clicked on your browser's Help menu by mistake.  To access the online help for ezLaborManager, click The Help Button from within ezLaborManager and then select Online Help. See Accessing Online Help for more information.

  • I closed the Help window and ezLaborManager disappeared. What happened?

You probably closed the browser window in which ezLaborManager was running instead of the browser window for Help. If so, you will have to log back in to complete your task. You will have to re-enter any data that had not been submitted when you closed ezLaborManager.

  • How can I find a particular topic in the online Help?

The easiest way to find a information about a specific topic is to use the index. To open the index, click the Index button in the top pane of the Online Help window. If you cannot find the information you need using the index, click the Search button to perform a broader search. See ezLaborManager Resources for a summary of both of these searching tools and their particular features.

  • I'm having difficulty clicking back and forth between two browser sessions to view the online Help and the task I'm trying to complete. Can I print the procedure I need so that I can refer to the hard copy of it while I use my computer to perform tasks?

Yes. Simply click the Print button that appears on every Help topic. See Printing Online Help Pages for more information.
