Recording a Corrective Action |
|
Note: Attendance infractions are an optional feature. If your company does not use attendance tracking and attendance infractions, the information on this page will not apply to you.
When an employee reaches an attendance infraction level that requires a corrective action, the employee's direct manager is notified through an exception that appears on the Home in the Manager role. In most cases, the manager will perform and record the necessary corrective action, which will clear the Corrective Action Required exception.
If any employees require corrective actions when you begin processing your payroll and your company requires Corrective Action Required exceptions to be resolved before payroll can be run, those employees will be listed in End of Period Operations Step 4 (Check Attendance Exceptions) as having exceptions. If this happens, you can either e-mail the appropriate manager a reminder to perform and record the corrective actions, or you can enter the corrective actions yourself from the End of Period Operations interface.
As a practitioner, you can also manually add a corrective action without being prompted by a Corrective Action Required exception. For example, you might need to discipline an employee for attendance behavior that is not tracked or was not recorded in the Time & Attendance module.
Note: The procedure given above is for the most common scenarios in which practitioners have to record corrective actions. You can also record a corrective action by clicking the Corrective Action Required link that appears on the Attendance Exceptions page when a corrective action is necessary. If you are a practitioner with manager user rights, you can also use the Home in the Manager role at any time to quickly view and resolve Attendance Corrective Action Required exceptions.
