An import summary is created each time you import data to the Time & Attendance module. This summary provides details about the import, including the import status, the number of records imported and updated, the import format, and other information.

To view import information:

  1. From the Time & Attendance menu, select Maintenance.

    Note: If the Maintenance option is not visible, make sure that you have selected Practitioner in the Role Selector.

  2. Under the Imports heading on the Maintenance page, click the Imports link. The Recent Imports page opens and displays the import summary for each recently imported file.

    The Time & Attendance module can store a maximum of 52 import summaries. If you have 52 imports in your import list and you click the New Import button, you will be prompted to delete the oldest import summary from the list. You can also delete specific import summaries at any time.

  3. To view additional details about an import, click the name in the Description column. In addition to the information that appears on the Recent Imports page, the following fields appear on the Import Details page:

    Template

    Displays the template used to create the import. Click the template name to see details about the template.

    Type

    Displays the kind of import the template is set up to perform (department, security group, or employee, for example).

    Description

    Displays the description entered when the data was imported. Click the description to see additional details about the imported data.

    Format

    Displays the format that was chosen when the data was imported. The format type can be ASCII Delimited, ASCII Fixed, or Delimited with Header.

    Import File

    Displays the path and filename of the file that was imported.

    User to Receive Inbox Message on Completion

    Displays the user who receives an Inbox message when the import is complete. The Inbox message includes the number of records added, the number of records updated, and the number of records skipped due to errors. This field is blank if a user was not selected when either the import template or the import was created.

    E-mail Address for Additional Notification of Completion

    Displays the e-mail address to which an e-mail message is sent when the import is complete. The e-mail notification includes the number of records added, the number of records updated, and the number of records skipped due to errors. This field is blank if an e-mail address was not entered when either the import template or the import was created.

    Confirmation Number

    Displays the number assigned to an import when the import is generated. Make a note of this number if you need to call an ADP Time & Attendance Representative.

    User ID

    Displays the user ID of the person who generated the import.

    Last Status Change

    Displays the date and time when the status of the import last changed. For example, it shows the time when the status changed from "Pending" to "Completed."

    Imported Records Summary section

    Displays the number of records that were imported or updated, the number of errors or warnings, and a total.

    Inserted

    Displays the number of new records that were imported. For example, if you import employees and 50 displays in this column, then 50 new employees were imported.

    Updated

    Displays the number of existing records that had data added or replaced during the import.

    Errors

    Displays the number of errors found in the imported file.

    Warnings

    Displays important information about the imported data. However, a warning does not prevent any data from being imported.

    Total

    Displays the total number of inserted records, updated records, and errors found in the imported file.
