Labor Charge Field Values Overview |
|
Your company may charge employee labor to a variety of labor categories for accounting, costing, and management purposes. In the Time & Attendance module, you can charge time pairs and payroll adjustments to such labor categories by entering codes into corresponding labor charge fields ( LCFs) that appear on many Time & Attendance module pages, including the Timecard Manager, employee Time Sheet, and employee scheduling pages.
Your ADP Time & Attendance Representative has set up a labor charge field in the Time & Attendance module for each labor category your company uses. The number and names of these labor charge fields vary depending on the categories used by your company, but some common labor charge fields are Department and Job. Your company may create parent-child associations between labor charge categories. For example, your company may allow or require employees to charge their labor to certain Jobs within Departments or to specific Work Orders or Tasks within Jobs.
Although some labor charge fields accept free-form information, most are configured to accept only values that have been defined for that labor charge field. For example, if your company uses the Department labor charge field, you can only enter department names or codes that have been defined for your company. As a practitioner, you can define and edit the labor charge field values that are accepted for the labor charge fields used by your company.
Note: Although the procedure for editing most labor charge field values is similar, special steps are required when working with Job values, TimeZone values, or values for labor charge fields that are have a parent-child relationship with other labor charge fields.
