Configuring and Managing Employee Schedules Overview
Administrators and supervisors can use the ezLaborManager scheduling features to assign employees to recurring schedules and/or to create individualized daily schedules for employees. Administrators and supervisors can also schedule employees for planned non-worked time (such as vacations, bereavement, or jury duty).

As an administrator, Administrators can also perform certain recurring schedule management tasks that supervisors cannot perform. You can view, edit, or delete the recurring schedule templates that have been defined for your company. You can also create new templates as necessary. Once a recurring schedule template has been created, it is available for all administrators and supervisors to use when scheduling their employees. Note: There is also an option to hide any recurring schedule templates that your company is no longer using.
Assigning schedules can make certain time recording tasks easier for employees because ezLaborManager can use an employee's scheduled times as default values in many procedures. For example, time sheet employees who work their scheduled times can record their time quickly by simply accepting the scheduled times that appear by default on their time sheets.
Assigning schedules also makes it easier for administrators and supervisors to identify and resolve many timecard-related exceptions. For example, when you run your end of period operations and begin preparing your payroll data export, you may be able to quickly clear some time pair exceptions by choosing the automatic solution "Use Schedule." Schedules are also important if your company uses the Projected Payroll feature, since projected hours are calculated based on employee schedules. Payroll cannot be projected for employees who have not been assigned schedules.
You can perform the following schedule-related tasks from the Schedules, or the Recurring Schedules link on the Manager Home page. from Administrator Services:
Create an individualized schedule for a single employee on a specific day
Create a new recurring schedule template based on an existing template
Assign a template-based recurring schedule to one or more employees
Schedule non-worked time (such as a vacation or jury duty) for an employee
Note: Although some ezLaborManager features can use schedules to make tasks easier or more automated, assigning schedules is not required. If you do use schedules, you can use any combination of individualized and recurring schedules, as long as two scheduled time pairs do not overlap.
